Where it is used

ESAB Fabricator ET 410iP applications and industries

  • Pipe workshop and pipeline TIG welding at 410 A on a 60% duty cycle, with 310 A available continuously.
  • Pressure vessel fabrication requiring repeatable pulse parameters across long runs.
  • Tack welding using spot mode, which removes the guesswork from a consistent tack.
  • Work where pulse is wanted only on part of a joint, using 4TS to pulse on demand rather than throughout.
  • Sites with variable mains supply — the machine accepts 380, 400, 415 or 440 VAC ±15%.
  • Heavy stick welding alongside TIG, with a 30–410 A MMA setting range.

Features

ESAB Fabricator ET 410iP features and capability

Start Pulse preheats the tungsten

A micropulse at ignition preheats the tungsten electrode, which ESAB state improves arc stability from the start. A cold tungsten gives an unstable first few seconds, and on a short weld that is most of the weld — so this matters more on tacking and small components than on long runs.

Pulse from 0.5 to 250 Hz with 10–90% background

Pulse background current is adjustable between 10% and 90% of the set current, with frequency from 0.5 to 250 Hz. That range covers slow pulse for puddle control on open roots through to high frequency for arc constriction on thin material.

Spot mode and 4TS

Spot mode gives repeatable tack welds at a set duration. 4TS allows pulsing to be switched in only when needed within a weld, rather than committing to it for the whole run.

Wide mains voltage tolerance

Accepts 380, 400, 415 or 440 VAC at ±15% three-phase. The combined range runs from roughly 323 V to 506 V, which covers most regional supplies and gives stable welding where the supply is not.

High frequency arc starts

HF start establishes the arc without the tungsten touching the work, preventing tungsten inclusions in the weld — which on pressure vessel and pipeline work is a rejectable defect.

Very low idle consumption with VRD

Idle power is 40 W with VRD off and just 15 W with VRD on. Maximum open circuit voltage is 76 VDC, dropping to 13.5 VDC with VRD active for work in environments with increased electrical hazard.

Built for rugged industrial use

Rated IP23S at 35.2 kg in a 525 × 280 × 475 mm case, with an intuitive control panel ESAB state reduces the time taken to reach the right weld characteristics.

Frequently asked

ESAB Fabricator ET 410iP — common questions

What duty cycle does the Fabricator ET 410iP deliver?

410 A at 60% duty cycle and 310 A at 100%, both rated at 40 °C. The setting range is 5–410 A in TIG and 30–410 A in MMA.

What is Start Pulse on the Fabricator ET 410iP?

A micropulse at ignition that preheats the tungsten electrode, improving arc stability from the start. A cold tungsten gives an unstable first few seconds — which on tacking and short welds is most of the weld.

What pulse range does the Fabricator ET 410iP offer?

Frequency from 0.5 to 250 Hz, with background current adjustable between 10% and 90% of the set current. That covers slow pulse for open-root puddle control through to high-frequency pulse for arc constriction on thin material.

What is 4TS mode?

A trigger mode that lets pulsing be switched in only where it is needed within a weld, rather than running pulsed for the whole pass. Useful when part of a joint needs heat control and part does not.

What mains voltage does the Fabricator ET 410iP accept?

380, 400, 415 or 440 VAC at ±15%, three phase, 50/60 Hz. The combined tolerance spans roughly 323 V to 506 V, which gives stable welding on supplies that vary.

Does the Fabricator ET 410iP need a water cooler?

Only for water-cooled torches such as the SR-B 18. Note that fitting the COOL 2 cooler (0465427880) to this machine also requires the adapter 0447248001 — order both or the cooler will not connect.

How does it compare to the Renegade ET 350iPA?

The 410iP gives more output (410 A against 350 A at 60% duty cycle) and a wider mains tolerance, but weighs 35.2 kg against 16.3 kg. The 350iPA is the portable one with engineered cellulosic and basic electrode curves; the 410iP is the heavy shop machine.
