The automatic input voltage sensor accepts any supply from 208 V to 528 V in three phase, and 230 V single phase. ESAB describe this as the widest input voltage tolerance available, and combined with the ability to run on cables up to 100 m it is the specification that decides whether the machine works on a difficult site.
Designed for extreme conditions including ambient temperatures up to +55 °C. Most inverters derate or trip well below that. For a workshop without air conditioning or a site in a GCC summer, it is the difference between welding and waiting.
Dual-current mode switches between two output current levels from the trigger, controlling heat input and the size of the weld pool. The background current is set as a percentage of the weld current and tracks it automatically, so changing the main current does not require resetting the background.
The ET 300i is non-pulsed; the ET 300iP adds pulse for thin sheet metal applications. Pulse controls average heat input on light gauge, which is where burn-through and distortion come from.
300 A in a 16.9 kg, 460 × 200 × 320 mm package, in a rugged composite casing built for the roughest environments. With the EC 1000 water cooler fitted the combination weighs 26.9 kg.
A modular system with tool-less connection to the water cooler and trolley — so the configuration can be changed on site without tools or a service call.
Open circuit voltage is 48 V, reduced to 33 V with VRD. Application class S covers environments with increased electrical hazard, and the machine is rated IP23.

Pulse. The ET 300iP (0445100920) is the pulsed version, intended for thin sheet metal applications; the ET 300i (0445100900) is non-pulsed. Output, weight, input tolerance and accessories are otherwise identical.
It has an automatic input voltage sensor and operates on any three-phase supply between 208 V and 528 V, and on 230 V single phase. It will also run on mains and welding cables up to 100 m, which is unusual and useful on large sites.
It is specifically designed for extreme conditions including ambient temperatures up to +55 °C. That is a higher rating than most inverters carry and is one of the main reasons to specify it in the Gulf.
In TIG, 300 A at 22.0 V on a 60% duty cycle and 250 A at 100%. In MMA, 300 A at 32.0 V at 40%, 250 A at 60% and 200 A continuously at 100%. Current range is 5–300 A in both processes.

The background current is set as a percentage of the weld current, so it tracks automatically when the main current changes.
Only for water-cooled torches. The EC 1000 water cooler (0445045880) connects tool-lessly and takes the combined weight to 26.9 kg. Gas-cooled SR-B 26 torches are available if a cooler is not wanted.
