Features
Square, soft square, sinusoidal and triangle waveshapes let the welder tune energy transfer to the job: square and soft square for high penetration on thicker metal, sinusoidal and triangle for low distortion on thin sheet. This is the control that separates a professional AC/DC machine from a basic TIG set.
Pulsing is available in both DC and AC TIG at frequencies up to 200 Hz, giving enhanced weld puddle control and letting the welder tailor heat input across a wide range of applications and thicknesses.
A high-visibility intuitive 5-inch colour screen brings the extended parameter set within reach without a menu maze, which ESAB states reduces downtime and improves accuracy. On a machine with this many adjustable parameters, the interface is a functional specification rather than a cosmetic one.
A built-in power factor correction circuit ensures a stable arc even with extra-long input cables, up to 100 m. On a site where the nearest supply point is a long way from the joint, this removes the usual cause of arc instability.
TIG arc starts are crafted for optimum performance based on the selected tungsten electrode diameter and type, so the machine adjusts the start rather than requiring the welder to compensate for a mismatched setting.
Dual-current mode switches between two output current levels on demand, to control heat input and the size of the weld pool — the practical way to manage a changing joint or a thinning edge without stopping.
A durable housing with multiple lift points makes it manoeuvrable in both workshop and field, at 19 kg and 460 × 210 × 380 mm. The system is modular with a tool-less connection to the trolley, and the optional CoolMini 3 water cooler (0448040880) supports lightweight water-cooled TIG torches.
